It can be difficult in today’s media driven society to feel comfortable in your own skin, to feel good enough, and to truly accept yourself. If you find yourself thinking all too often about how much better your life would be if only you were a different size or shape, if diet culture has left you in a cycle of deprivation and overindulging you can’t seem to break away from, and most of all, if you’re ready to do something radically different, to truly find some peace around food once and for all, I’m here to help. This will not be a diet, and I do not treat active eating disorders, but I can help if you’re looking to develop a healthier relationship with food and your body. I can help you develop ways to counteract those toxic messages you no doubt hear regularly from every corner of your life – friends, family, television, strangers on the street, and the world that tell you something’s wrong with you, with your body.
Because, truth be told, it’s not actually your weight that’s the problem, it’s your feelings about your weight that are causing you pain, embarrassment, shame, and getting in the way of you having the relationships you want and deserve. By exploring those feelings and attitudes, as well as developing new ways to view your relationship with yourself and with food, we can create real and lasting change. We’ll use a mindfulness approach to create a better understanding of when you’re truly hungry, what you’re hungry for, and how to know when you’re full. This approach is all about nourishing yourself with joyful movement and lots of self love to replace your current deprivation diet of shame, isolation, and self criticism.
